Well, I'm Ingemar... and unless specified, most of the content on the TOMKYOU blog will be about an orange catman. The profile and the INGEMAR blog will be exclusively about me, the non-catman.

Fate/Stay Night

For once, I am on the rising crest of an new anime phenomenon rather than becoming a fan of it three or more years after the peak of its popularity.

I speak of Fate/Stay Night, which is now available for download. I do not think it is liscensed. Only four episodes are available as I write (I have yet to see episode 4). Onto the anime itself.

It's about a Holy Grail War that takes place between 7 masters and their "Servants" (whose names are not names, but classes like Archer, Saber, Lancer, Rider, Assassin, Caster, Berserker). It's a fight to the death, I suppose and the last team standing wins. Only,... it doesn't actually have to be death. There's an overseer. Let me get back to that once I re-watch episode 3. But some other fellow (or lady) on the internet said that it is sort of like Battle Royale. I have not seen BR, but I know enough about it that it is like Lord of the Flies only much, much more violent.

Now onto some of the characters:

The main character is apparently a red-head named Shiro, who would remind me a lot of Kyou Sohma if only he wasn't such a doormat. Given that Fate/Stay Night was originally an H-ish interactive novel, one would expect him to be a typical spineless, uninteresting male lead of a harem anime. To an extent, this is true about him--but I actually like what I have seen of him so far. He is a just man, and still helps others even though they abuse him. Even though he is an absolutely incompetent (perhaps "inexperienced" is a better word) magician and wants no part in the War, he participates anyway so that he could have a chance to prevent tragedy. (Or perhaps the fact that he has a really great (and cute) Servant working for him influenced his decision).

You may already be familiar with his Servant Saber if you have visited the Tomkyou blog. I "borrowed" her head and changed her from a blonde to a bluehair and made her into the doting mother Humekitty Sabretooth Kitty. I have nothing much to say other than I really like her gauntlets.

And we have Rin Tohsaka. She is in a somewhat opposite situation from Shiro in that she is a overcompetent Magi with a Servant she is disappointed to have (Archer, who looks like Millions Knives with a bad tan). She is the most popular girl in school and I can see why--it's those legs. Damn those are fine legs. I also have a weakness for black stockings. I don't care if anything like this happens to her in the undoubtedly brutal Holy Grail War, just as long as they can preserve the legs. They belong in a damn museum. ROOOOOOWR. (It seems that Tomkyou is rubbing off on me).
